The Wedding

There is something incredibly special about a wedding takes place over several days. The anticipation builds slowly, families have time to come together. And every ceremony becomes its own little chapter in a much bigger story.

This 3 day destination wedding at Green Meadows in Chennai was exactly that, a celebration filled with tradition, color, emotion, laughter, and the kind of wonderfully unscripted moments we love documenting.

As documentary destination wedding photographers, multi-day Indian weddings are some of our favorite celebrations to photograph. There is always something happening. Sometimes right in the middle of the ceremony and sometimes quietly at the edge of the room.

And those little moments are often where the best stories live.

The Couple

Radhika and Sreesh met on hinge 3 years ago. They went on their first date and the rest is history. Even though Radhika was born and raised in Delhi and Sreesh in North India they choose Chennai for their wedding because that’s where the older generation of their families still lived.

Day One: A Colorful Mehendi Celebration in Chennai

The wedding celebrations began with the Mehendi ceremony, bringing everyone together for the first day of festivities.

Mehendi days have a completely different energy from the wedding ceremony itself. They are relaxed, colourful and full of movement. Guests arrive, families reconnect, hands are decorated with intricate henna designs, and the excitement of the days ahead starts to feel very real.

For us, photographing a Mehendi ceremony in Chennai is less about creating perfectly posed photographs and more about watching the relationships around us.

The laughter between friends. Family members catching up telling jokes. The bride checking the progress of her Mehendi. Guests dancing, talking and occasionally forgetting that the photographers are even there.
