Great Falls<\/span><\/a> is a perfect place for an outdoor engagement session with a fun couple! It is surrounded by beautiful parks on both the Virginia and Maryland sides of the Potomac River. From the cascading falls to seemingly endless cliffs, the scenery gives <\/span>Great Falls engagement photos anything that DC-based couples who love the outdoors could want! It was what led Ally to propose to Sam there. It also made the location a natural choice for a session with their engagement photographers!<\/span><\/p>\n

Sunset Great Falls Park Engagement Photos<\/h2>\n

Because we wanted to end their engagement photoshoot with pictures at sunset, we met Sam and Ally on the<\/span> Maryland<\/span> side of the river. From the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park<\/a>, one can see both the falls and the Western sky at the same time. Before the sun went down and the sky turned orange, though, we had almost two hours to wander around and take <\/span>Great Falls Park engagement photos of them. During that pre-sunset portion of Sam and Ally\u2019s session, we focused on capturing images that highlighted their personality as a couple.<\/span><\/p>\n

Personalized Great Falls Maryland Engagement Photos<\/h2>\n

Fortunately for us, that was really easy thanks to some touches that Sam and Ally added. Before the session started, Sam and Ally unpacked their<\/span> pride flag<\/span> that they wanted to include in their <\/span>Great Falls Maryland engagement photos.<\/strong> As engagement photographers, we always love it when our couples bring along elements that are particularly meaningful to them. Those little touches personalize the portraits by telling a piece of the future spouses’ love story. It also allows us to use those items to amp up the creativity in their engagement pictures. As you can see, we found all sorts of ways to incorporate the flag creatively into Sam and Ally\u2019s images!<\/span><\/p>\n

Best Spots for Great Falls Engagement Photos<\/span><\/h2>\n

After creating portraits at several locations along the path by the river, we turned onto the Olmsted Island Trail and headed to the scenic overlook at its end. This is a favorite spot of many DC residents, but one we had not explored before. With its gorgeous view of the falls surrounded by majestic cliffs, it is not hard to understand why Washington DC area couples love it so much! So as the sun began to go down and the sky turned amber, we took some gorgeous pictures of Sam and Ally. It was the perfect way to conclude a beautiful afternoon spent with a lovely couple!<\/span><\/p>\n
