The day began early at Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam, with sunlight streaming through the decorated entrance lined with jasmine and marigolds. The air was filled with the sound of nadaswaram music and laughter from families greeting one another after years apart. We always say that photographing a Tamil wedding is like documenting a symphony — every moment, every chant, every smile plays its own part in a larger rhythm of love and legacy.
Poorvaja’s bridal look was classic yet elegant — a rich kanjeevaram saree complemented by traditional gold jewelry. Subramanian looked equally regal in his crisp veshti and angavastram. The two exchanged shy smiles as they prepared for the muhurtham, surrounded by parents, siblings, and grandparents whose eyes glistened with pride.
Photographing Indian weddings overseas has taught us how meaningful these rituals are to couples who grew up hearing stories of home. Being there in Chennai, surrounded by that sense of belonging and continuity, reminded us why we fell in love with wedding storytelling in the first place.
