Aida and Andrew wanted engagement photos that reflected their playful relationship. But at the same time they wanted the images to feel elegant and timeless. And what better place that offers all of this than the National Gallery of Art in DC?
Why the National Gallery of Art Is Perfect for an Engagement Session
As wedding photographers who love capturing real connection and emotion, we’re always drawn to spaces that offer both story and soul. The National Gallery of Art gives you both — in abundance.
Art and architecture that tell a story: Every corridor, sculpture, and marble hall feels cinematic.
Soft, natural light indoors: The diffused light pouring through skylights makes every moment glow.
A weather-proof alternative: Whether it’s raining or freezing, this space is always perfect.
A mix of classic and modern: From Renaissance galleries to modern installations, it’s easy to create variety in one session
We started in our favorite part of the Gallery namely the East Building’s light-filled atrium, surrounded by soaring glass and angular lines. The natural light filtered through the skylight, bouncing softly off the pale walls — creating beautiful light and shadow patterns. From there we made our way through the museum and stopped to create some unique images for Aida and Andrew!
